Clinical Psychologist
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Emotional Wellbeing Team, supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across our specialist education provisions in Cheltenham, Hereford, Worcester and South Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist psychological expertise within a SEND Further Education setting, helping learners to achieve their educational, emotional and social potential. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, families and external professionals, you will deliver psychological assessment, formulation and evidence\-based interventions that promote wellbeing, resilience and engagement in learning.
The successful candidate will play an important role in developing psychologically informed and trauma\-informed practices across the organisation. They will provide consultation and guidance to staff, contribute to EHCP processes and support plans, deliver training, and help create safe, inclusive environments that enable learners to thrive and prepare successfully for adulthood.
Applicants must hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent recognised qualification) and be registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist. They will have experience of working with children and young people with SEND, including autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, together with experience of psychological assessment, formulation and intervention. A strong understanding of mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions, trauma and safeguarding is essential, along with excellent communication, consultation and report\-writing skills.
Experience within educational settings, involvement in EHCP processes, and additional training in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT or trauma\-informed practice would be advantageous.
