Clinical Procurement Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Procurement Specialist.
This role sits at the heart of our ambition to deliver a clinically led, high\-performing organisation, supporting the integration of clinical expertise into procurement and service improvement across the Trust.
You will play a key role in strengthening clinical engagement and collaboration between clinical teams, procurement, and system partners. They will support the delivery and ongoing development of the Clinical Products Advisory Group (CPAG), ensuring robust governance, evaluation, and standardisation of clinical products to improve patient outcomes and reduce unwarranted variation.
Working across multiple sites, the role will contribute to the delivery of value\-based healthcare, innovation adoption, and continuous improvement programmes. You will use data\-driven insights, stakeholder engagement, and best practice methodologies to support product rationalisation, cost improvement initiatives, and the safe introduction of new technologies.

A key role supporting the Director of Procurement \& Contracting, the Head of Clinical Engagement and Innovation, and Clinical Category Leads to deliver the Trust’s strategic and operational plans, ensuring high\-quality, patient\-centred services.
The Clinical Procurement Specialist will provide visible clinical leadership within Procurement, acting as a key interface between clinicians, procurement and external partners to support informed, best‑value decision\-making for clinical products and consumables.
Working collaboratively with clinical teams, you will use specialist knowledge to support product evaluation, selection, standardisation and utilisation, ensuring quality, safety and improved patient outcomes while delivering value for money.
The role will lead clinical procurement projects, including product trials, introduction and standardisation, supporting cost improvement and productivity initiatives. It will also provide specialist advice, education and training, and support contract management and system\-wide standardisation.
You will contribute to value\-based procurement, ensuring compliance with legislation and Trust governance, while working with stakeholders to resolve product issues and maximise efficiencies.
Working across all sites, they will lead clinical engagement, support CPAG delivery, drive innovation and transformation, analyse data to inform decisions, and build strong stakeholder relationships to support sustainable change.
