The role:

Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to develop your career within Sexual and Reproductive Health? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Sexual Health Nurse to join the expert multidisciplinary team within Sandyford Services. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while delivering high\-quality, person\-centred care to a diverse patient population. You will support patients through sensitive and often complex health needs, helping to improve sexual health outcomes across our communities. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Sandyford Central

  • Monday to Friday, between 08:30 and 20:00

  • There is one full\-time, permanent (36 hours) and one part\-time, permanent (25\.2 hours) post available

  • Please outline your preference in your application

  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part\-time hours
Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver high\-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare interventions within a multidisciplinary team

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence\-based care tailored to individual patient needs

  • Undertake sexual health assessments, testing, treatment and management of sexually transmitted infections

  • Provide contraceptive advice, administration of treatment and fitting or removal of contraceptive implants where competent

  • Support patients through sensitive conversations including diagnosis, treatment pathways and partner notification

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care and safeguarding support

  • Contribute to teaching, mentorship, clinical audit and continuous service improvement activities
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Registered Adult or Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration

  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to sexual and reproductive health

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and active listening skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast\-paced environment

  • Strong organisational, leadership and problem\-solving skills

  • Competence, or willingness to work towards competence, in STI management, partner notification and contraceptive implant fitting/removal

  • Experience in sexual health, gynaecology or a related clinical specialty would be advantageous
