An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join the Harrow Community Specialist Palliative Care Team as a Clinical Lead (Band 8a) .

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, \- Harrow Integrated Care the post holder will provide clinical, professional, and operational leadership to the Clinical Nurse Specialist team, ensuring the delivery of high quality, patient centred palliative care services across Harrow.

This role combines advanced clinical practice, leadership, education, service development, research, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will provide expert specialist advice, support workforce development, lead service improvements, and contribute to the strategic direction of community palliative care services.

This is an excellent opportunity to influence service delivery and improve outcomes for patients and families across Harrow.

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the Harrow Community Specialist Palliative Care Team, ensuring the delivery of high quality, responsive, and patient centred care.

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and specialist palliative care advice for complex patients, supporting multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.

  • Deputise for the Head of Clinical Services and contribute to the strategic development and operational management of the service.

  • Lead workforce development through clinical supervision, education, training, case reviews, and professional support for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team.

  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with primary care, acute trusts, hospices, community services, and other key stakeholders.

  • Lead on clinical governance, audit, research, quality improvement, and service evaluation activities to ensure compliance with national standards and best practice.

  • Support the development of policies, pathways, and service redesign initiatives, including the ongoing development of the seven day specialist palliative care advice service.

  • Act as a specialist resource for palliative care across CLCH, promoting innovation, evidence based practice, and excellence in end of life care.
