We are looking for a full-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our Clinical Laboratory team at our Belfast Clinic site.
You will analyse body fluid specimens in accordance with client protocol, using current standard operating procedures as well as assist and co-ordinate efforts with clinical laboratory associates.
Essential Functions include:
Computer entry of clinical laboratory requests, creating worklists
Setup, operation and shutdown of clinical laboratory instruments
Body fluid analysis, using manual and automated testing procedures
Quality control evaluation and data review of analytical runs
Preventive maintenance of clinical laboratory instruments
Computer entry of analytical results
Document test data
Inventory control of routine materials used within the clinical lab
Inventory control of send-out supplies and fulfilling send-out requests
Trouble-shooting and problem-solving responsibilities
Administrative functions
Create and QC lab orders
Co-ordinate lab testing fees
Associate training
Assist Manager/Supervisory Staff in organizing details for studies and special projects
Assist Manager/Supervisory Staff in monthly review and evaluation of internal quality control values
Assist Manager/Supervisory Staff in investigating external proficiency result discrepancies
Prepare and update SOPs
Co-ordinate off-site activities
Interact with clients
Meetings/in-service education
Training will be provided on various laboratory disciplines such as chemistry, haematology, urinalysis, virology, microscopy and several more.

Requirements
- Biomedical Scientist degree, or equivalent certification.
- Clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently once fully trained, as well as collaboratively within a busy team.
- Willingness to work a flexible shift schedule, including weekday and weekend shifts, with some evening or early morning hours.
