Mickleover Surgery is a small GP Practice with approximately 6,500 patients, and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard\-working individual with attention to detail, as a part\-time clinical coder \& administrator to come and join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in clinical coding and administrative work in a GP Practice.

The position is for 20 to 30 hours per week.

SystmOne experience is essential.

Main Duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to provide administrative support to the practice team. The post\-holder will be responsible for:\-

  • Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient’s medical history using the clinical system (SystmOne)

  • Document processing, coding \& inputting clinical data accurately and in line with practice. protocols.

  • Processing recalls

  • Processing the registrations of new patients and deducting patients from the practice patient list

  • Processing work received from PCSE via the link.

  • Handing \& processing private requests for reports, holiday cancellations etc in line with practice protocols

  • Learning Disability and Safeguarding Admin Lead supporting the GP

  • Carrying out clerical and administrative related tasks as delegated by the clinical team and operations manager

  • Assisting with processing referrals in the absence of the practice secretary, using the electronic referral system (ERS)

  • Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time

The post holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health \& Safety Policy, to include:

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines.

  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.

  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.

  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.

  • Reporting potential risks identified.

Contribution to the Implementation of Services:

The post holder will:

  • Apply practice policies, standards and guidance.

  • Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work.

  • Participate in audit where appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE:
  • Educated to at least GCSE Grade C/Level 5 or above in English and Maths.

  • Understanding, acceptance and adherence to a strict code of confidentiality.

  • Previous experience of working in a GP Practice.

  • Previous experience of SystmOne.

  • Previous experience of clinical coding.

  • Computer literacy. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent face\-to\-face communication skills.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Ability to handle information received both written and verbally and to disseminate details accurately.

  • Ability to file and retrieve hard copy documents and electronic data accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.

  • Ability to work within a team environment.
Pay: From £12\.80 per hour
