We’re looking for a Clinical Case Manager to join our Case Management Team based at The Christie Private Care. This role is well suited to an experienced nurse who wants to use their clinical knowledge in a different way, stepping away from the bedside while remaining closely connected to patient care. Based within one of the UK’s leading specialist cancer hospitals, you’ll work in an environment where collaboration, clinical expertise and patient focus shape everything we do.
The Case Management Team at The Christie Private Care supports patients through complex and often life‑changing pathways. You’ll work alongside consultants, multidisciplinary teams and third‑party payers to help coordinate care that is safe, appropriate and well planned. The team is respected for its calm, considered approach, its strong relationships across services and its focus on supporting patients and families at key points in their journey.
As a Clinical Case Manager, you’ll bring together clinical judgement, communication and organisation to assess, plan and coordinate care from admission through to discharge. Your work will help ensure patients receive the right care at the right time, while supporting effective use of resources. Other’s may think this is just a role in the Case Management Team, but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.What you’ll do:* Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission.
- Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care.
- Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care as required.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary discussions and contribute to coordinated care and discharge decisions.
- Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication.
- Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience or significant experience within the healthcare insurance sector.
- Proven experience of utilisation review and complex discharge planning.
- Senior nursing experience at Band 6 or above, with management experience.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working independently and as part of a team.
