Cleaner
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team. We have hours available at our main surgery in Lichfield (WS13 7FA) and at our branch surgery in Boney Hay (WS7 2EY). Applicants can apply for the cleaning role at either or both sites.
Main Surgery Role
Langton Grange Medical Centre, Eastern Avenue, Lichfield, WS13 7FA
Hours: 6\.30 pm to 8 pm Monday to Friday
Branch Surgery Role
Boney Hay Surgery, 11 Longfellow Road, Boney Hay, Burntwood, WS7 2EY
Hours: 1 hour/day Monday to Friday either before or after surgery hours or during lunch time approx. 1pm to 2pm.
Please note that it is preferrable that Practice staff are not patients registered with the Practice.
Job Summary
To ensure that the standard of cleanliness within the organisation is implemented and maintained, ensuring a clean environment for patient care in accordance with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025\. Detailed information relating to the expected standards and specific cleaning frequencies are contained within the organisation’s Cleaning Standards and Schedule Policy.
To correctly dispose of waste in accordance with the following organisational policies
To maintain good communications with both the staff on site and the Practice Manager.
The post\-holder will be an integral part of the Practice team.

Langton Medical Group is a friendly, forward thinking training practice consisting of 2 GP Partners who are supported by a strong team of salaried GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and an excellent admin and reception team serving a patient population of approximately 13,700 across three sites: Lichfield, Whittington, and Burntwood.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
- To maintain cleaning standards using the recognised quality control procedures as detailed within the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025
- To follow the Practice cleaning schedule and for auditing purposes, to maintain robust cleaning records to detail activity as instructed
- To ensure that the correct cleaning methods are observed and adhere to the colour coding system for cleaning equipment, seeking appropriate guidance if required
- To use and store cleaning equipment and cleaning materials in a safe and secure manner in a safe and effective manner, adhering to manufacturers’ instructions, COSHH, HASAW and other legislative acts and guidance
- To replenish all consumable items (hand towels, toilet roll, etc.) as required
- To remove general waste in accordance with the Waste Management Policy and Green Plan and Sustainable Development Policy
- To undertake legionella flushing of systems within the organisation
- To maintain communication and report any faulty equipment or defects to the management as soon as practically possible
- \- Experience of working in a similar role
- \- Experience of working in a healthcare setting
- \- City and Guilds Level 2 or a related cleaning qualification (or working towards)
