Civils & Drainage Engineer

Purpose of the Role

As a Civils \& Drainage Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out excavation, repair, installation and reinstatement works associated with drainage systems across our operating area, providing a professional, efficient and high\-quality service to our customers.

You will be expected to identify and deliver appropriate civils and drainage repair solutions, complete works safely and effectively and work closely with Metro Rod drainage engineers and CCTV surveyors where required.

An important part of this role is helping Metro Rod Lancashire develop and grow its civils and drainage repair capability. Initially the role will be predominantly site\-based; however, as the workload develops, there will be an opportunity for the right person to take greater responsibility for surveying, planning and managing civils projects, with potential progression into a supervisory or management position.

Key ResponsibilitieS

· Excavate drainage systems to expose damaged or defective pipework.

· Complete below\-ground drainage repairs and pipe replacements.

· Install new drainage runs and carry out basic drainage installations and alterations.

· Install gullies, manholes, inspection chambers and associated drainage components.

· Carry out LSR (Localised Structural Repair) installations within drainage systems where trained and competent.

· Prepare excavations safely, including appropriate shoring, trench support and safe access where required.

· Work safely around existing underground utilities and services.

· Carry out concrete breaking, cutting and preparation works.

· Reinstate excavated areas following repairs.

· Complete reinstatement of surfaces including concrete, tarmac, paving, block paving and soft ground.

· Ensure completed works are left safe, tidy and to a professional standard.

· Work alongside Metro Rod drainage engineers and CCTV surveyors to identify and complete the most appropriate repair solution.

· Identify the materials, plant and equipment required to complete jobs efficiently.

· Complete all works safely and to the standards expected by Metro Rod.

Pay: £33,000\.00\-£36,000\.00 per year
