<p data-start="61" data-end="208">Lumos & Associates is seeking highly motivated <strong data-start="108" data-end="135">Civil Project Designers</strong> to join our Engineering Division for the 2027 Summer Internship Program.</p>
<p data-start="210" data-end="814">Our Civil Project Designer Interns will support engineering project teams while gaining hands-on experience with civil design, plan production, reports, calculations, modeling, and field activities. This seasonal position is designed for a college student pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and will work full-time/40 hours per week from mid-May through mid-August 2027. The internship provides opportunities to contribute to active projects while learning how multidisciplinary teams collaborate throughout the design and construction process.</p>
<p data-start="816" data-end="887"><strong data-start="816" data-end="887">The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills</strong></p>
<ul data-start="889" data-end="1355">
<li data-section-id="lsb41q" data-start="889" data-end="1008">Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal communication with team members and colleagues.</li>
<li data-section-id="rlhtwi" data-start="1009" data-end="1073">Ability to learn technical knowledge and new software quickly.</li>
<li data-section-id="5ovbf2" data-start="1074" data-end="1123">Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.</li>
<li data-section-id="1veal2" data-start="1124" data-end="1179">Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li>
<li data-section-id="ioihw4" data-start="1180" data-end="1271">Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.</li>
<li data-section-id="1gym12y" data-start="1272" data-end="1355">Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.</li>

<p data-start="1357" data-end="1381"><strong>Areas of Experience & Exposure</strong></p>
<ul data-start="1383" data-end="2340">
<li data-section-id="1u3tnpy" data-start="1383" data-end="1445">Support drafting and plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D.</li>
<li data-section-id="1s3l4fx" data-start="1446" data-end="1578">Assist with site analysis, civil design, utility computations, engineer’s opinions of probable costs, and supporting calculations.</li>
<li data-section-id="mg28iy" data-start="1579" data-end="1670">Assist with project planning and analysis using ArcGIS Pro and related engineering tools.</li>
<li data-section-id="1xmdxui" data-start="1671" data-end="1736">Contribute to water, wastewater, and stormwater modeling tasks.</li>
<li data-section-id="1t9oe3m" data-start="1737" data-end="1839">Assist with the preparation of reports, calculations, estimates, and other design support documents.</li>
<li data-section-id="1rmhe79" data-start="1840" data-end="1914">Learn applicable engineering standards, codes, and permitting processes.</li>
<li data-section-id="7399mw" data-start="1915" data-end="2023">Participate in project status meetings, coordination meetings, field visits, and construction site visits.</li>
<li data-section-id="pl9q00" data-start="2024" data-end="2151">Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, and other project stakeholders to gather information necessary for design.</li>
<li data-section-id="1v1xn93" data-start="2152" data-end="2340">Gain exposure to multiple civil engineering disciplines and collaborate with professionals across Engineering, Structural, Survey, and Construction.</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="2342" data-end="2358"><strong data-start="2342" data-end="2358">Requirements</strong></p>
<ul data-start="2360" data-end="2947" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">
<li data-section-id="1mogjlx" data-start="2360" data-end="2464">Student enrolled in a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering.</li>
<li data-section-id="oj1ukc" data-start="2465" data-end="2559">Ability to work full-time during the internship period from mid-May through mid-August 2027.</li>
<li data-section-id="2yq0dp" data-start="2560" data-end="2662">Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>
<li data-section-id="vxdei4" data-start="2663" data-end="2766">Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, or other engineering software is preferred, but not required.</li>
<li data-section-id="11s92w9" data-start="2767" data-end="2871">Ability to work hours necessary to complete work within required time frames with regard to deadlines.</li>
<li data-section-id="19cdfjs" data-start="2872" data-end="2947" data-is-last-node="">Valid driver's license and driving record with 3 or fewer demerit points.</li>
