Job Title: Civil Engineer – Data Centre Projects
Role Overview
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with strong setting\-out experience to
join our Client on a major data centre construction project. The successful
candidate will be responsible for delivering precise dimensional control
across complex civil and structural works in a fast\-paced, high\-
specification environment.
This role requires prior experience on data centre, commercial,
industrial, or major infrastructure projects, where accuracy,
coordination, and quality assurance are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setting out and surveying duties using Total Station,
GPS, and levelling equipment
Interpret drawings, BIM models, and coordinate data to establish
accurate site control
Set out foundations, slabs, drainage, ducting, roads, and
structural elements to strict tolerances
Ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications and
data centre quality standards
Conduct as\-built surveys and maintain accurate site records
Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and
design teams to resolve technical issues
Support QA/QC inspections, snagging, and quality assurance
processes
Assist with planning and sequencing of works in line with
programme requirements
Maintain strict adherence to health safety procedures and site
protocols
Required Skills Experience
Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline
2–5\+ years’ experience in civil engineering with strong setting out
responsibility
Proven experience on data centre, commercial, industrial, or
large\-scale infrastructure projects (essential)
Strong proficiency with:
o
Total Station (Leica / Trimble or equivalent)
o
GPS surveying equipment
o
AutoCAD (drawing interpretation essential)
Strong understanding of:
o
Site coordinates, grids, datums, and levels
o
Construction tolerances in high\-spec environments
Experience in reinforced concrete, groundworks, drainage, and
utilities
Ability to work independently in a fast\-paced site environment
Desirable Experience
Previous data centre / mission\-critical project experience (highly
advantageous)
BIM / digital construction tools exposure
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
Background in highly regulated or high\-spec environments
(pharma, semi\-conductor, etc.)
Valid Safe Pass / CSCS or equivalent certification
Full driving licence
