Rising Stars Homes is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team and provide high\-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
We have opportunities available for Bank (Zero Hours), Full\-Time, and Part\-Time positions, with both Day and Night shifts available. Day shifts are typically 8:00am – 8:00pm, with corresponding night shifts from 8:00pm – 8:00am.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, promoting the well\-being, development, and positive outcomes of the children and young people in our care. Duties
- Support children and young people with their daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and recreational activities.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people, providing emotional support and guidance.
- Support children with emotional, behavioural, and social needs while promoting positive behaviours and healthy relationships.
- Implement and follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Encourage participation in education, hobbies, social activities, and community engagement.
- Assist children and young people in developing life skills, independence, confidence, and resilience.
- Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date records, reports, daily logs, and incident reports using electronic recording systems.
- Transport children safely to school, appointments, family contact sessions, and leisure activities when required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, education providers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Ensure the home remains a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
- Follow all company policies, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential, childcare, education, or support setting is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and behaviour management practices is advantageous.
- Experience implementing care plans and supporting individual needs is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Good IT skills for recording information and completing reports.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
- Flexible approach to working shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
