Children's Support Worker Location: Carlisle, Penrith, and Kendal (Cumbria area)
Payrates: Day Rate: £15.35 per hour Waking Night Rate: £16.88 per hour Sleep-in Allowance: £63.04 flat rate
Job Type: Flexible
Hours: 12-hour long days with a sleep-in (Minimum commitment of 36.5 hours / 3 shifts per week)

About the Role We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Workers to join our team, supporting children and young people (under 18) with learning disabilities (LD), autism, and mental health needs.
In this rewarding role, you will provide day-to-day support, assist in respite care for families, and engage in meaningful activities that promote the well-being and development of young people. As part of your role, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of different caseloads, ensuring that the needs of each individual are met with care, empathy, and professional support.
Key Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality daily care and support tailored to children with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs.
- Assist with respite care for families, ensuring a safe, positive, and engaging environment for the young person.
- Engage in meaningful activities that promote personal development, independence, and emotional well-being.
- Manage diverse caseloads efficiently, working both independently and collaborating closely with families and wider support networks.
- Travel across the Cumbria area (Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal) to deliver consistent care where required.
- Background Check: An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service is required.
- Training & References: Valid mandatory training certificates and professional references covering the past 3 years of employment/academics.
- Licensing: Full UK driving license with the ability to travel across the Cumbria area is desirable
- Right to Work: Unrestricted right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not offered).
- Availability: Commitment to a minimum of 36.5 hours (2-3 long day shifts + sleep-ins) per week.
