Our Client, Bury Council, is seeking a Children’s Advanced Practitioner to join their Children with Disability Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
- Provide advanced practice leadership within the CWD team, supporting high-quality assessments, care planning, and safeguarding interventions for children with complex needs.
- Hold a small caseload of highly complex and high-risk cases, modelling best practice and supporting team decision-making.
- Offer expert advice, guidance, and mentoring to social workers, enhancing practice standards and professional development.
- Lead on complex assessments (e.g. Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings) ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks and legislation.
- Support the Team Manager in quality assurance, including case audits, supervision support, and performance monitoring.
- Promote strengths-based, child-centred practice, ensuring the voice of the child and family is central to all interventions.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners (health, education, SEND services) to coordinate effective support packages.
- Lead or contribute to strategy discussions, safeguarding meetings, and multi-disciplinary planning.
- Drive continuous improvement by embedding best practice, contributing to service development, and supporting inspection readiness (e.g. Ofsted).
- Ensure robust risk assessment and safeguarding responses for children with disabilities, considering additional vulnerabilities.
- Deputise for the Team Manager where required, supporting operational oversight and decision-making.
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
- Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
- Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience working as a Qualified social worker
