Children's Senior Social Worker [Stockport MBC]

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work from referral through to closure or permanence, allowing for deep and impactful engagement with children and their families.


• Manage caseloads tailored to your interests, primarily focusing on Child Protection and Child in Need, with potential to handle court cases or care for children as per mutual interest.


• Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners including health, police, and Early Help teams, all co-located in the town hall district of Stockport.


• Participate in a strong induction program with a gradual increase in caseload complexity, supported by high-quality, reflective monthly supervision.


• Engage in group and reflective supervision sessions delivered by senior practitioners and our workforce development team.


• Utilize modern technology to support flexible working arrangements, with options for home-based work and adaptable hours to suit personal needs.

• Proven experience in statutory social work with children and families.


• Ability to manage complex cases and maintain high standards of practice.


• Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.


• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
