Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support within a residential setting. The role involves working closely with children and young people to promote their wellbeing, development, and safety. The successful candidate will play a vital part in implementing care plans, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring a nurturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children requiring additional support.
Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with their daily routines, including personal care and activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, patience, and understanding.
- Supervise children during activities both within the residential setting and during outings, including driving when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Record observations, behaviour incidents, and progress notes accurately and in accordance with organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance childcare skills and knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive organisational vehicles safely.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in creating or following care plans.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable children and young people.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the organisation’s rota. This role is integral to providing high\-quality care within a supportive environment for children in need of additional assistance. The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding standards and fostering positive outcomes for young residents.
Pay: Up to £39,000\.00 per year
