Children's Residential Care Worker

Residential Child Care Workers (Bank/Casual) are required for our residential children's home in the Fife region. We are seeking dedicated and resilient individuals to join our casual bank register to provide high\-quality care and support to vulnerable children and young people.

Role Overview:

As a bank staff member, you will work on a flexible, as\-needed basis to cover staff absence, holidays, and peak periods. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that supports the emotional, social, and educational development of the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Care: Provide daily emotional and practical support to children and young people.

Routine Management: Assist with daily routines, including meal times, education support, and recreational activities.

Safeguarding: Maintain a safe environment and adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed daily logs and reports.

Requirements \& Qualifications:

To comply with Scottish care regulations and standards, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Qualifications: Possession of, or a willingness to work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Registration: Must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the SSSC within 6 months of commencing employment.

Compliance Checks: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check for regulated work with children.

References: Provision of at least two satisfactory professional references, including your most recent employer.

Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with complex needs or challenging behaviours is highly advantageous.

Driving license essential
