The service aims to look after, care and strive for positive outcomes through child\-centred planning and empowering children and young people to make wise decisions. Our homes are designed for children and young people to grow and develop in a safe, nurturing and caring environment.

Children and young people need support, encouragement and stability from adults who are dedicated and determined to remain committed to them through difficult times.
Our homes vary in size and provide therapeutic, EBD and complex trauma support services.

The role of a Residential Care Worker will involve:
- Maintaining a high quality of care that meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of Elevated Futures
- Understanding your individual responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the young people you support and ensuring this is implemented in your role
- Contributing to young people’s care plans and risk assessments, including their review and implementation
- Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (where appropriate) and external agencies
- Ensuring the home is kept clean and tidy, adhering to cleaning rotas and encouraging young people to participate where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and high\-quality records with support and guidance from Shift Managers
- Promoting residential childcare practice to the high standards expected by Elevated Futures and Ofsted
- Supporting the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes
- Meeting the emotional and physical needs of young people and maximising opportunities for their development
- Providing a caring, supportive and nurturing environment where children and young people feel secure and protected from harm
- Building positive relationships with children and young people and always offering unconditional positive regard
- Helping young people gain self\-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding positive conduct
- Acting as a positive role model and offering advice, guidance and support where appropriate
- Providing practical and emotional support on a 1:1 basis to help young people address past and present difficulties
- Providing emotional support during times of difficulty or stress
- Attending planning meetings, reviews and other professional meetings as directed by management
- Empowering young people and encouraging active involvement in decisions about their lives and future
- Acting as an advocate for young people during meetings and reviews
- Encouraging young people to develop community links, attend activities and build positive social networks
- Driving company vehicles where required (subject to licence and insurance checks)
- Being aware of the aims and objectives of the home and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them
- Attending team meetings and making a positive contribution
- Actively contributing to the development of the team
- Sharing information appropriately to improve communication
- Being willing to give and receive feedback constructively
- Maintaining consistency in care plans and supporting colleagues where needed
- Providing practical and emotional support to colleagues when appropriate
- Attending and contributing to regular supervision sessions in line with National Minimum Standards
- Monitoring conduct and reporting concerns appropriately in line with whistleblowing procedures
- Following all company policies and procedures
- 14\.5\-hour day shifts (usually 8:00am–10:30pm) followed by a sleep\-in
- Full\-time 40 hours per week
- Part\-time 20 hours per week
- Zero\-hours contracts available
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent) desirable
- Experience in a children’s residential setting desirable
- Passion for supporting and nurturing young people
- Ability to work shift patterns including sleep\-ins
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months (due to insurance requirements) desirable
- £13\.52 per hour (unqualified)
- £14\.02 per hour (qualified)
- £60 per sleep\-in
- Overtime paid at 1\.5x your normal hourly rate
- Based on 174 paid hours per calendar month and up to 12 sleep\-ins per month (pro\-rata around 5\.6 weeks’ annual leave), this equates to total earnings of up to approximately:
- £35,941 per year (unqualified)
- £36,985 per year (qualified)
- Fully funded Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification
