Exciting Social Work Opportunity - Assessment Team (Dacorum, Hertfordshire)
Hertfordshire County Council is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Dacorum Assessment Team on an ongoing locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive statutory setting, managing a manageable caseload while making a real impact on children and families across the local area.
This role offers a blend of home working, office-based work (3 days per week in office), and community visits, providing a balanced and flexible working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Visiting children and families in their homes and schools
- Attending professional meetings and multi-agency discussions
- Completing Child & Family Assessments within statutory timescales
- Undertaking Section 47 enquiries, Child Protection (CP) and Children in Need (CIN) work
- Managing a caseload of approximately 18 children
- Delivering high-quality statutory social work practice in line with local authority standards
- Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Previous experience in children's statutory social work (Assessment/CP/CIN desirable)
- Must be a driver with access to own vehicle
- Ability to work in a fast-paced assessment environment and meet tight statutory deadlines
- Location: Dacorum, Hertfordshire
- Pay Rate: £39 per hour (Umbrella)
- Team: Assessment Team
- Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days office-based, remainder WFH/community visits
- Caseload: Approx. 18 children
- Contract: Ongoing locum assignment
