ORAH Care Ltd provides safe, nurturing, and trauma\-informed homes for children and
young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Our solo\-bedded home in Prescot,
Knowsley allows us to deliver highly individualised care using a PACE\-informed and
therapeutic approach. Our mission is to create environments where young people feel
secure, valued, and empowered to achieve positive outcomes.
Salary \& Working Pattern
Salary: £39,840 per annum (inclusive of an agreed number of sleep\-in duties as part of the
rota).
Standard working pattern: 2 on / 4 off, including sleep\-ins.
The annual salary of £39,840 remains payable in full during such periods and will not be
reduced where sleep\-ins are not required.
Two dedicated administration days per month (off the floor) are incorporated within
contracted working hours to support leadership, auditing, and care planning
responsibilities.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to lead and develop
the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You
will support staff development, oversee care planning, and ensure the home operates in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and embed a strong, trauma\-informed culture within a new residential service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the day\-to\-day leadership of the home
- Lead shifts and provide management oversight where required
- Embed PACE and trauma\-informed approaches into daily practice
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Monitor and audit records to ensure high\-quality documentation
- Support supervision, performance management, and staff development
- Liaise effectively with external professionals and stakeholders
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are consistently followed and concerns escalated
- Participate in the management on\-call rota to provide out\-of\-hours support and
structure.
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience in a senior or leadership role within children’s residential care
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
- £39,840 annual salary inclusive of sleep\-in allowance

- Funded Level 5 qualification (if required)
