Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker (Ages 8–17\) – Full\-Time \& Part\-Time
Location: South Wimbledon (Warm, Homely Environment)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Shift Pattern: Must be available for 12\-hour shifts – Day (8am–8pm)

Pinewood Residential Care brand\-new home, nurturing children’s home in South Wimbledon for young people aged 8–16\. We’re looking for kind, committed, and experienced Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our close\-knit team. Together, we’ll build a safe, supportive, and empowering home where young people in social care can truly thrive.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of daily life at Quail House. Your role is to deliver compassionate care, emotional support, and practical guidance – helping each young person flourish. You’ll keep them safe, support their development, and help maintain a warm, homely, well\-run environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day\-to\-day care, supervision, and nurturing support
- Building positive, trusting relationships – always respecting each young person’s feelings and choices
- Helping young people develop life skills, engage with education or training, and reach personal goals through a person\-centred approach
- Upholding the highest safeguarding standards, following the Children’s Act 1989, National Minimum Standards, and all relevant policies
- Keeping accurate records, writing clear reports, and working to individual care plans
- Helping with practical tasks like preparing meals, light cleaning, and general upkeep to create a stable home
- Working well within a supportive team – attending meetings, contributing to team development, and taking part in regular supervision
- Driving company vehicles when required (full UK driving licence essential)
- Proven experience working directly with children or young people in a care or support setting
- A strong understanding of the challenges vulnerable young people face
- Genuine passion for making a positive difference, with a person\-centred, empowering approach
- Resilience, initiative, and the ability to handle challenging situations sensitively
- Solid knowledge of safeguarding principles and a commitment to following them
- Ability to commit to a rolling rota of 12\-hour day or night shifts
- Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare within 3 months of starting (full support given)
- Good IT skills (MS Office) and clear written communication for record\-keeping
- An Enhanced DBS check is required – we’ll process this for you
