Chef Manager
St Martha's Nursing home, Charleville, is now hiring for a full time Chef Manager to join their team.
The Chef Manager will manage, supervise, and provide the catering service within the Nursing Home efficiently and in accordance with current legislation and Company Policy and procedure.
What does the role entail?* Manage all aspects of the daily routine within the catering team.
- Assign the catering team daily tasks, ensuring food production and safety. Adhere to all current HACCP Regulations (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). Adhere to First Aid, Hygiene, Health \& Safety rules and COSHH Regulations at all times.
- Make purchases as agreed and ensure the kitchen is set up and closed daily.
- Plan and cost menus to meet the dietary requirements and requests of residents within allocated financial resources.
- Ensure food is prepared and cooked in accordance with current food hygiene regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure the standard of hygiene in the kitchen meets all Health and Safety Regulations and records are maintained to demonstrate this.
- Ensure all equipment is operated, maintained, and serviced as per manufacturer’s instructions and Health and Safety requirements/recommendations.
- Identify any issue within the team or operation and put a solution together to discuss with line manager.
- Level 2 HACCP Training
- Experience working in similar environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards and special diets for elderly)
- Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
- Can work as part of, and lead a team having excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- Passionate about delivering great food.
- Fluent level of English both written and oral.
