Role Description:

This is a full\-time, on\-site role based in Godalming for a Chartered Structural \& Civil Engineer. The role involves designing and reviewing civil and structural engineering solutions for residential and commercial schemes, including foundations, superstructures, and external works. Day\-to\-day tasks include preparing calculations, drawings, and technical reports, undertaking structural inspections and surveys, and providing clear recommendations to clients, architects, and contractors. The engineer will coordinate with project stakeholders, support planning and building control submissions, and ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. The role also includes mentoring junior team members, contributing to project programming and resource planning, and supporting continuous improvement of design processes and technical quality.

Qualifications:

• Strong skills in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to produce safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.


• Competence in Planning related to civil and structural works, including understanding of planning processes and development constraints.


• Chartered status (CEng or equivalent) with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE), or demonstrably close to achieving chartership.


• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, and familiarity with current Eurocodes and UK design standards.


• Strong technical report\-writing skills and the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to non\-specialists.


• Experience with residential and commercial projects, including inspections, refurbishments, conversions, and new\-build developments.


• Ability to work hybrid in Godalming, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.


• Proficient in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, Robot, AutoCAD/Revit).
