Purpose of the Role
The Change Manager will be responsible for implementing the FG change management plan, ensuring staff understanding, acceptance and adoption of transformational change across the institution. This role is about building readiness, mitigating risk and supporting people through a period of profound organisational change.
The postholder will focus on the behavioural, cultural and engagement aspects of FG, working closely with programme leadership, Communications, and People & Organisational Development (POD) teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive change management plan aligned to FG objectives and milestones
- Conduct detailed change impact assessments and stakeholder analysis across academic and professional services areas
- Identify and actively manage change champions, key influencers and areas of resistance
- Design and deliver engagement interventions, workshops and feedback mechanisms to support understanding and adoption
- Work closely with Communications and POD to ensure aligned messaging and people support
- Define, track and report adoption, engagement and staff wellbeing metrics to FG governance forums
- Support leaders and managers to lead change effectively within their areas of responsibility
- Significant experience delivering organisation-wide change in complex, values-led environments
- Strong preference for experience in higher education, public sector, charity or local government contexts
- Proven ability to operate autonomously and influence senior stakeholders without formal authority
- Deep understanding of change management principles, tools and approaches, applied pragmatically
- Excellent communication, facilitation and analytical skills
- High levels of personal resilience, empathy and professionalism
