To strengthen our development team, we are looking for an experienced professional in the field of numerical simulation and virtual product development. In this key role, you will be responsible for the simulation\-driven design and optimization of axial impellers and cooling systems with regard to aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, and structural behavior.
The focus of this position is the methodological advancement and industrial application of state\-of\-the\-art simulation techniques in Simcenter STAR\-CCM\+ for the virtual development of future product generations. Key performance indicators include efficiency, pressure rise, acoustic performance, and structural durability under real operating conditions.
Your responsibilities
- Independently perform and further develop CFD, aeroacoustic, and FSI simulations for axial impellers and cooling systems
- Optimize plastic and aluminum impellers with respect to aerodynamic efficiency, performance characteristics, and acoustic behavior
- Set up, execute, and evaluate complex transient simulations of rotating systems using Simcenter STAR\-CCM\+
- Apply advanced meshing, simulation, and analysis methodologies in computational fluid dynamics
- Develop, standardize, and automate simulation workflows in Simcenter STAR\-CCM\+
- Perform aeroacoustic analyses using hybrid methods and evaluate sound pressure levels, third\-octave spectra, and tonal noise components
- Conduct coupled Fluid\-Structure Interaction (FSI) analyses to assess deformations, gap variations, and their impact on flow behavior
- Develop and validate simulation methodologies in close collaboration with testing, design, and product development teams
- Derive practical design improvements and support CAD engineers in implementing production\-ready solutions
- Establish a future\-oriented simulation and HPC strategy leveraging modern GPU and cloud technologies
Your profile
- Successfully completed a Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Physics, or a comparable discipline
- Several years of industrial experience in the simulation of fans or comparable rotating flow systems
- Strong expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of rotating systems, ideally using Simcenter STAR\-CCM\+
- Experience in aeroacoustic simulation, noise evaluation, and correlation with experimental measurements
- Proficient in frequency analysis, FFT evaluation, signal processing, and interpretation of acoustic performance indicators
- Knowledge of Fluid\-Structure Interaction (FSI) and the mechanical behavior of plastics under dynamic loading is an advantage
- Confident handling of large datasets and structured evaluation of complex simulation results
- Analytical mindset, high level of personal responsibility, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration
- German language skills (C1\) and English language skills (B2\)
What we offer
- A technologically challenging key position with significant professional and personal freedom to shape future developments
- Direct influence on the development of future products and simulation methodologies
- Access to state\-of\-the\-art computing infrastructure and modern software environments
- Collaboration with experienced experts from development, testing, and design engineering
- Hybrid working option after the onboarding period
