To strengthen our finance team at our Hamburg location, we are looking to recruit, with immediate effect, a motivated and professionally skilled Certified Balance Sheet Accountant / Senior Accountant (m/f/d) who will support and further develop our financial closing processes and has solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (Public Cloud / FIORI). As written correspondence with tax advisors and fiscal authorities is conducted entirely in German, fluent German language skills are an essential requirement for this role.

Your Role \& Responsibilities
---------------------------------

• Independent preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB as well as group reporting


• Responsibility for the general ledger, sub\-ledgers and the reconciliation of complex balance sheet items, including fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting, and intercompany reconciliation


• Determination, valuation and posting of provisions, accruals and other accounting\-related matters


• Posting of day\-to\-day business transactions (accounts receivable, accounts payable, banks, fixed assets)


• Preparation of VAT returns and other relevant reports


• First point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, tax authorities and internal stakeholders


• Active participation in projects related to our system landscape, digitalization and the further development of our processes in the SAP S/4HANA Finance environment

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with further training as Certified Balance Sheet Accountant (IHK or comparable), or alternatively a completed degree in business administration – with a focus on accounting/finance – from a university or university of applied sciences


• Several years of professional experience in balance sheet accounting in a complex or international environment and ideally in the energy sector


• Sound knowledge of accounting under HGB, supplemented by good knowledge of VAT law


• Solid practical experience with SAP S/4HANA (Public Cloud / FIORI) and a confident use of Microsoft M365 (in particular MS Excel)


• Independent, structured way of working with high quality standards and the ability to analyse complex issues in a solution\-oriented manner


• Strong communication skills and a pronounced team spirit


• Fluent German skills and business\-fluent English skills for professional communication within the group
