Hands on Catering Manager
Manor Adventure’s Culmington Manor is a busy Outdoor Education Centre in Culmington, Shropshire, catering for up to 240 guests and over 30 instructors each day. We provide a friendly working environment and need people who enjoy working as part of a team. A vacancy has now arisen for a Catering Manager who will be responsible for the management of the kitchen. This is a permanent role.
Accommodation (if required) and food provided free of charge.
Duties:
You will be responsible for the full management of the kitchen, including but not limited to: employee engagement, rotas, ordering, record keeping and stock control.
You will also assist in the preparation and cooking of set menu dishes for children and students in order to keep the servery stocked during meal times.
You will be expected to work up to 48 hours per week over six days in exceptionally busy times
Experience:
Some experience of catering as well as kitchen management in a similar environment is required.
Qualifications and Skills
You will need to: \-
- Be able to cater for up to 250 guests plus staff and set/maintain a high\-level standard of food that is on offer.
- Be fully conversant with all food and hygiene regulations.
- · Have experience of supervising and motivating a catering team and hold relevant qualifications in catering and food hygiene.
- · Effectively communicate with suppliers and external/internal clients.
