Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Catering Manager to oversee the day\-to\-day management of our fruit and vegetable catering business. This is a hands\-on role responsible for procurement, customer relationships, sales growth, financial administration, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering the company’s vision while ensuring operational excellence and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement \& Stock Management
- Manage the procurement of fresh fruit, vegetables, and related catering supplies.
- Source new product lines and identify opportunities to expand the product offering.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor market trends, seasonal availability, and pricing fluctuations.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand while minimising waste.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the Isaac system.
- Maintain up\-to\-date product, pricing, and customer information within the system.
- Monitor order fulfilment and resolve any issues promptly.
- Complete daily and weekly banking activities in line with company procedures.
- Monitor cash handling processes and ensure accurate record\-keeping.
- Support financial reporting by maintaining accurate sales and banking documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Proactively contact customers to gather feedback and identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Communicate the company’s vision, values, and service enhancements effectively.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Take ownership of sales performance and drive revenue growth across the business.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the catering, hospitality, and corporate sectors.
- Develop strategies to increase customer retention, account value, and market share.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and implement improvement initiatives.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a small team within the department.
- Allocate workloads and ensure operational objectives are achieved.
- Provide coaching, support, and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer\-focused working environment.
- Previous experience in food service, catering, wholesale, fresh produce, or hospitality environments.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in procurement and sales.
- Proven ability to build long\-term customer relationships.
- Experience managing or supervising a small team.
- Confident using order management systems; experience with the Isaac system is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem\-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general business systems.
