Catering Assistant - Hotel Services

The role:
As a Support Services Assistant (Catering), you will work as part of the Catering Team to support the delivery of high\-quality catering services for patients, staff, visitors and functions. The role involves assisting with food preparation, meal assembly, picking and packing meal components, meal distribution, regeneration of meals, service delivery, wash\-up duties and cleaning activities. You will play an important part in ensuring food is prepared, handled and served safely while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and customer service.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

- Monday \- Friday 1200 \-1600/0
You will be responsible for supporting the provision of patient, staff and visitor catering services, including the preparation and assembly of meals, distribution of food items and provision of specialist dietary requirements. The postholder will ensure food is received, stored, prepared, regenerated and served in line with HACCP procedures and food safety legislation. You will maintain accurate HACCP records, adhere to stock rotation procedures, operate catering equipment safely, uphold high standards of food hygiene and infection control, and follow all Health \& Safety and Board policies. The role also involves cleaning duties, reporting equipment faults, working effectively with colleagues across departments and contributing to a safe, efficient and customer\-focused catering service.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Knowledge of catering services and food service delivery (full induction provided)
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided)
- Knowledge of Health \& Safety procedures (training provided)
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations (training provided)
- Knowledge of moving and handling principles (training provided)
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices (training provided)
- Training in the safe use of catering and cleaning equipment
- Understanding of food hygiene legislation and HACCP principles
- Ability to work within established procedures and timescales
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Full driving licence essential for function delivery driver duties only
