Role Purpose
We are seeking meticulous, high\-energy, and professional Food Servers \& Waiting Staff to join our casual crew pool. Our events range from elegant, multi\-course sit\-down banquets to dynamic, high\-capacity standing canapé receptions. You will work closely with our onboard chefs and events manager to deliver flawless food service and a premium dining experience all whilst given guests the time of their lifes on the Thames.
Key Responsibilities
- Premium Food Service: Deliver 5\-star table service for formal sit\-down dinners, coordinate buffet stations, or seamlessly circulate the decks for standing canapé and bowl\-food receptions.
- Menu \& Allergen Knowledge: Pay close attention to event briefs regarding daily menus, ingredients, and pre\-arranged dietary requirements/allergens to safely and accurately inform guests.
- Event Setup \& Breakdown: Assist in transforming the vessel’s decks before guests arrive (polishing cutlery and glassware, laying tables to exact specifications, setting up service stations). Efficiently clear tables and pack away equipment post\-charter.
- Proactive Clearing (Back\-of\-House flow): Confidently clear plates, glasses, and debris from guest areas throughout the cruise, maintaining a pristine environment. Coordinate with the galley (kitchen) to ensure a smooth flow of clean crockery.
- Onboard Safety Compliance: Keep service corridors and emergency exits completely clear of trays or clutter. Remain aware of the moving environment of a vessel on a tidal river.
- Experience: Previous experience as a food server, waitress/waiter, or plate\-waiting staff in a high\-end hospitality environment (hotel banqueting, luxury events, or fine dining) is highly preferred.
- Service Skills: Ability to confidently carry plates (3\-plate carrying technique is a major plus) and handle loaded service trays smoothly on a moving vessel.
- Communication \& Presence: Impeccable presentation, a warm smile, and a polite, attentive manner. Excellent spoken English to engage with high\-net\-worth clients and international corporate guests.
- Punctuality: Absolute reliability is mandatory. Because the vessel departs strictly on schedule, you must arrive on time for the mandatory pre\-cruise briefing at Butler's Wharf Pier.
- Presentation: High standards of personal grooming. Uniform typically requires sharp, ironed attire matching luxury event dress codes (e.g., smart black trousers/skirt, polished black shoes, and a crisp shirt).
- Ultimate Flexibility: A 0\-hour structure allowing you to claim shifts around your personal schedule via Coople or our crew registry—ideal for students, actors, or casual hospitality professionals.
- Unmatched Views: Say goodbye to dark restaurant basement kitchens. Your workspace glides past London’s most famous landmarks like Tower Bridge, Greenwich, and Canary Wharf.
- Strong Team Support: Work alongside a lively, dedicated casual team with high standards of camaraderie and a fun, unique working atmosphere.
- Training: Onboard induction covering luxury service etiquette, specific deck layouts, and maritime safety protocols.
Benefits:
- Discounted or free food
