Job Overview

To carry out the picking and packing of product for delivery to customers and ensure the cash and carry is re\-stocked on a First In, First Out (FIFO) basis whilst maintaining the required health and safety and food safety standards throughout the site.

Primary responsibilities:

  • To work with and follow instruction given by your manager or any member of the Senior Management Team.

  • To pick product for orders for Cash and Carry customer orders as per the issued Customer Order working efficiently as part of the team as well as on your own initiative.

  • Encourage customers to use CK Fast Foods online to place collection orders

  • Ensure online orders are checked, collected by customers and all paperwork complete correctly (signed delivery notes)

  • To ensure damaged stock is disposed or discounted as appropriate and the relevant report is completed to log the issue.

  • To ensure familiarity with the location of products and assist any inexperienced staff members with their tasks.

  • Operate the till (handling card and cash payments) in the Cash and Carry Office ensuring customers are served in a professional manner.

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area throughout the shift by adopting the ‘clean as you go’ policy.

  • Responsible for completing the Daily Check Form to monitor the standards relating to operating practices and housekeeping and hygiene.

  • Mention any out\-of\-stock items and customer requests to the Cash and Carry manager

  • To follow the Company procedures ensuring work is carried out in a safe and appropriate manner and informing your Team Leader or any member of the Senior Management Team of any potential hazards.

  • To ensure equipment is used safely and only used if you have received the appropriate training.

  • To be willing to undergo training against new and updated procedures and have a willingness to adapt and move forward with business needs.

  • To maintain a high level of output in busy situations

  • To have the enthusiasm to work and take accountability for outcomes

  • To adhere to the Company policies relating to the wearing of PPE.

  • To report any accidents, near misses or any incorrect working practices or hazards to your manager or any member of the Senior Management Team.

  • To report any damage to products, equipment, vehicles (including forklift trucks) or building fabrication to your manager or any member of the Senior Management Team.

  • To provide cover for absent colleagues and/or vacant posts.

  • To inform your manager or any member of the Senior Management Team of any suggestions for a quicker or easier method that can be implemented.

  • To assist members of the public in the Cash and Carry ensuring they receive a safe and professional experience when visiting the site.

  • Ensure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety and customer requirements are always met.

  • To maintain the appropriate level of training (as provided) to carry out work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines.

  • To be respectful of all other employees and customers at the site.
Key attributes for the role:
  • To have the ability for light, medium and heavy repetitive lifting to be carried out in line with manual handling training that you will have received.

  • To have an adaptable and flexible attitude in your approach to work.

  • Be aware of the presence of allergens and the risk of cross contamination to other products.

  • Maintain standards of the following, in accordance with Company Procedures:

c. Good Operating Practices (GOP)

d. Security and Confidentiality

Working Hours:

Full time: Thursday to Monday
Thursday\- 9 am\- 5 pm \- 30 MINS BREAK
Friday\- 9 am\- 5 pm \- 1\.5 hours BREAK
Saturday\- 10 am\- 5 pm\- 20 MINS BREAK
Sunday\- 11 am\- 5 pm\- NO BREAK
Monday\- 9 am\- 5 pm\- 30 MINS BREAK

Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays, pro rated for other working schedules.

Salary: £12\.21ph except breaks

Minimum Training Requirements:

1\. Food Safety in Warehousing

2\. Induction / Company Presentation.

3\. Health and Safety

4\. Specific task related on\-the\-job training

5\. Manual handling training.
