Care Worker / Personal Assistant

A care worker / Personal assistant is required by the employer, a 55 year old woman who uses a motorised wheelchair, to assist with their personal and social care requirements. They are looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and trustworthy. She enjoys gardening and crafting and is looking for someone to help her connect with her family and local community.

Tasks will include:

\* Assisting the supported person with batch cooking (food hygiene training provided)

\* Assisting the supported person to go food shopping

\* Assisting the supported person with laundry and changing bed sheets

\* Assisting with portion control (weighing food out for the week \- crucial to managing diabetes)

\* Assisting the supported person with accessing activities in the community, groups, days out eg visiting the garden centre

\* Assisting the supported person with establishing and maintaining regular contact with family

\* Assisting with any required aspects relating to the supported person's Personal care requirements

\* Any other duties commensurate with the role of Care Worker / Personal Assistant

Full UK driving licence required \- to drive the supported person's WAV

Training in food hygiene desirable but not essential (training will be provided)

Applicants must have membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) or be willing to join this scheme
