Care Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals requiring personal care. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by delivering compassionate care in their homes. This role covers both day and night shifts, with early starts from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for day shifts, and night shifts from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. A strong commitment to patient welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of caregiving tasks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.


• Assist clients with mobility and transfers.


• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.


• Support clients with daily living activities to ensure their comfort and safety.


• Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or case manager.


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.


• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during challenging times, including hospice care when needed.


• Deliver specialised care where required, including:


• Medication administration


• PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding support

Requirements

• Previous experience in home or patient care is highly desirable.


• Familiarity with medical terminology to support effective communication within the healthcare team.


• Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others.


• Experience with MND care is preferred but not essential.


• A caring attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
