Care Support Worker

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and confident individuals to work as part of a professional team providing daily support for a lady in the Edinburgh area who is a double amputee and suffers from several health conditions.
Support will be provided within her own home, working within a compassionate and pragmatic team. We need someone with a strong desire to have a positive impact on this individual’s life, and a commitment to supporting and promoting her individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals. Successful applicants will demonstrate they are approachable and dependable, whilst also a willingness to deliver a high quality, person centred and evidence\-based approach to providing support. They will feel confident in achieving this working in conjunction with other members of a support team focused on resolving issues, providing advice and support, liaising with families, health professionals and management. All under the supervision of a dedicated team leader.
Duties to be fulfilled within the position are inclusive of but not purely; Performing health care tasks to support the health, hygiene and general wellbeing of the individual, performing or assisting with intimate personal hygiene requirements, assisting with the delivery of programs designed to help her achieve her own goals, performing a range of household tasks within her home such as cooking meals, cleaning, shopping and assisting her with daily activities within the community such as attending medical appointments or social events.
· Previous experience of working in Health and Social care is desirable. Individuals lacking this but able to clearly demonstrate an understanding of Person\-Centred working within the Social Care sector will be considered on an individual case by case basis.
· SVQ2 Level or above in Social Care, or other related field desirable.
· Applicants ideally must be able to work a combination of both day and night shifts within a varied shift pattern that would include weekdays and weekends.
· Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
· The successful Applicant must be able to pass a PVG check with Disclosure Scotland before employment commenced.
· Due to the personal nature of the requirements of care to be provided, we are only able to consider female applicants for this particular position.
MTC is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide Care at Home. Our mission is to support, develop and enable individuals who have a range of diverse needs, assisting them to live as independently as possible as respected members of their local communities. The care provided is always person centred, tailored to the individual and based around their day to day lives both within the confines of their own home and outside within the community.
