Job Overview
Emeson Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high\-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and in\-home care environments. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well\-being, and promoting their independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other related conditions.

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.

  • Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing changes in behavior or condition.

  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Prepare meals and assist with cooking while accommodating dietary restrictions.

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.

  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well\-being.

  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.

  • Document care provided and report any concerns to the supervising staff or healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in home health care, senior care, or long\-term care settings is preferred.

  • Needs to be a specialist in managing complex individuals with ABI or similar condition.

  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is essential; certifications are a plus.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental delays.

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient mobility assistance.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.

  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
