Care Operations Manager
DRIVER REQUIREMENT:
Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle essential.
JOB PURPOSE
The Care Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in the effective day\-to\-day operational management of care services delivered by Imperial Care HCS Ltd. The postholder will ensure high\-quality, person\-centred care is delivered in accordance with Health and Social Care Standards, Care Inspectorate requirements, SSSC codes of practice, company policies, and relevant legislation within Scotland.
The role involves overseeing service delivery, staff performance, compliance, quality assurance, safeguarding practices, and operational efficiency across assigned services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Management
· Support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations across care services.
· Ensure care services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with agreed care plans and risk assessments.
· Monitor operational performance and escalate concerns where necessary.
· Assist with service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Support effective management of staffing levels, shift coverage, and rota coordination.
Quality \& Compliance
· Ensure compliance with:
o Care Inspectorate regulations
o Health and Social Care Standards
o SSSC Codes of Practice
o Adult Support and Protection legislation
o Company policies and procedures
· Conduct audits, spot checks, observations, and quality assurance reviews.
· Monitor care documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
· Support inspection preparation and implementation of improvement action plans.
Staff Management \& Leadership
· Provide leadership, guidance, and operational support to Team Leaders, Senior Carers, and Support Workers.
· Participate in recruitment, onboarding, induction, and retention activities.
· Conduct staff supervision, competency checks, and performance monitoring.
· Support training and professional development of care staff.
· Promote positive workplace culture, teamwork, equality, and professional conduct.
Safeguarding \& Risk Management
· Promote safeguarding practices and ensure concerns are reported appropriately.
· Support investigations relating to incidents, accidents, complaints, or disciplinary matters.
· Ensure risk assessments are completed, reviewed, and implemented effectively.
· Assist in maintaining safe working environments for staff and service users.
Service User Care
· Promote person\-centred approaches that respect dignity, independence, choice, and inclusion.
· Ensure service users receive high\-quality support tailored to individual needs.
· Maintain positive communication with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and external agencies.
· Support service reviews and care plan evaluations.
Administration \& Reporting
· Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
· Support monitoring of KPIs, incidents, staffing, and service performance data.
· Ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times.
· Participate in management meetings and provide operational updates to the Registered Manager.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSQualifications \& Experience
· SVQ Level 3 in Health \& Social Care (minimum)
· Experience working within adult health and social care services
· Experience supervising or managing staff within a care environment
· Good understanding of Care Inspectorate standards and Scottish care regulations
· Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management procedures

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Willingness to travel between services
· Flexibility to participate in on\-call duties where required
· Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
· SVQ Level 4 or Leadership \& Management qualification
· Experience within domiciliary care, supported living, or complex care services
· Knowledge of staff scheduling systems and care management software
