Activities Coordinator – Dalkeith Residential Care Home, Cheltenham

Hours: 12–15 hours per week
Pay: £13\.75–£14\.25 per hour
Location: Dalkeith Residential Care Home, Cheltenham (20 residents)

At Dalkeith Residential Care Home, our activities are all about connection, choice and enjoyment for every individual who lives with us.

We are looking for a kind, cheerful, outgoing and organised Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities for our residents.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning and leading a mix of group and one\-to\-one activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities


• Getting to know each resident, their hobbies, skills and life story, and gently encouraging them to take part


• Building warm relationships with family visitors, entertainers and local community groups


• Helping to run and develop our current programme, which includes quizzes, games, basic gardening, music, fitness, and arts \& crafts


• Occasionally accompanying residents on outings such as theatre or cinema trips, art galleries, shopping, park walks and hospital visits (full UK driving licence required)

(Being the owner of a well‑behaved dog is an added bonus – our residents love a friendly four‑legged visitor!)

About you

• You enjoy working with older people, including those living with dementia, mobility or mental health needs


• You understand that “meaningful activity” looks different for everyone and are happy to adapt and be creative


• You are friendly, positive, reliable and able to use your initiative


• Experience in activities, wellbeing, community work or care is helpful but not essential – we are most interested in people who bring warmth, organisation and enthusiasm


• A full UK driving licence is essential for occasional outings
