Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high\-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well\-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming


• Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times


• Help with meal preparation and feeding as required


• Follow individual care plans to deliver personalised care tailored to each client’s needs


• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients


• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff


• Support clients with medication reminders and health appointments when necessary


• Assist with light household chores to maintain a clean and safe environment


• Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, adhering to safety protocols

• Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided


• Valid driving licence and the ability to drive is essential for supporting clients outside of the care setting


• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written


• Basic IT skills for maintaining documentation and updating care records


• Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


• Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed


• Ability to work a minimum of alternate weekends


• A genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals and improve their quality of life
