Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high\-quality care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and have experience with senior care, including specific knowledge in Alzheimer's and dementia care. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.


• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to enhance their well\-being.


• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.


• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.


• Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.


• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.


• Engage in behaviour management techniques as necessary to support clients with specific needs.


• Provide first aid when required and respond appropriately to emergencies.


• Assist with heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility support.

• Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing, hospice care, or home care is preferred.


• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and senior care best practices is highly desirable.


• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.


• A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.


• Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification is essential.
