I am a much loved, gentle, twinkly eyed young lady living in my own beautifully adapted bungalow in Cheshire. I am a smiley, splendidly Sensory Being with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and complex Epilepsy. I use a wheelchair and am non\-verbal.
I am seeking passionate, pro\-active Personal Assistants to join my committed circle of support comprising of a small team who work closely and creatively with my family. Together they provide me with both a bespoke life that is truly meaningful to me and an outstanding standard of care in a friendly, fun environment.
I have my own vehicle and enjoy a varied week filled with purpose and positivity. I access a range of community\-based activities such as rebound therapy, as well as regularly visiting places like the zoo and local parks and attractions. At home, I love to fill my days with foot spas, Music Therapy, massage, physio, spending time in my garden and discovering different sensory based experiences.
I am looking for someone to help enable me to continue with my current programme as well as having the enthusiasm to encourage me to try new things!
My team are also responsible for supporting me with all aspects of daily life including personal care, cooking, administering medication, domestic duties, shopping and so on.
Qualifications
------------------
Experience in supporting people with similar needs and an understanding of person centred practice would be wonderful but isn’t crucial as full training and supervision is, of course, provided and ultimately it is more important that you possess the core values and personality traits that are necessary for the role. Training and supervision on my complex epilepsy is provided by specialist nurses who oversee my clinical needs. A supportive care manager manages the other aspects of my care.
Kindness and compassion are key!
You will need to be empathetic, a true team player, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in making decisions and using your initiative.
I am looking for caring, conscientious individuals who are happy to work 12 hour shifts including nights. Reliability and punctuality are important.
You will be someone who is cheerful, respectful, patient and who wants to make a real difference in your role.
Ideally you will be a driver and preferably a non\-smoker.
