Job Summary – Healthcare Assistant\- Better Care \& Support Ltd
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high\-quality, person\-centred care to individuals in their own homes. The successful candidate will support clients to live independently, safely, and with dignity within their local community. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to clients in their own homes, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light household tasks, and maintaining a safe home environment
- Follow and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs, preferences, and cultural values
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well\-being and promptly report any changes or concerns to senior staff
- Assist with medication administration in line with care plans, risk assessments, and prescribed protocols
- Offer companionship and emotional support, promoting independence, dignity, and social engagement
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided using electronic or written care documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent care
- Travel between clients’ homes and accompany clients to medical appointments or community activities when required
- Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care, or a care home setting is essential; ongoing theroical training will be provided
- Good command of English, both spoken and written
- Basic IT skills for recording care notes and maintaining electronic care records
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to community\-based travel requirements
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider care team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow care plans accurately and consistently
- A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Full driving licence is required to travel between clients’ homes and accompany clients when needed
