Job Summary – Healthcare Assistant\- Better Care \& Support Ltd

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high\-quality, person\-centred care to individuals in their own homes. The successful candidate will support clients to live independently, safely, and with dignity within their local community. This paid role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives while developing valuable skills in community healthcare and social care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients in their own homes, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility

  • Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light household tasks, and maintaining a safe home environment

  • Follow and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs, preferences, and cultural values

  • Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well\-being and promptly report any changes or concerns to senior staff

  • Assist with medication administration in line with care plans, risk assessments, and prescribed protocols

  • Offer companionship and emotional support, promoting independence, dignity, and social engagement

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided using electronic or written care documentation

  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent care

  • Travel between clients’ homes and accompany clients to medical appointments or community activities when required
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care, or a care home setting is essential; ongoing theroical training will be provided

  • Good command of English, both spoken and written

  • Basic IT skills for recording care notes and maintaining electronic care records

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to community\-based travel requirements

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider care team

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow care plans accurately and consistently

  • A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Full driving licence is required to travel between clients’ homes and accompany clients when needed
Pay: £12\.71\-£13\.00 per hour
