Care Assistant

Location: Killearn, Balfron, Drymen \& surrounding areas
Pay: £17\.20–£18\.00 per hour
Hours: Permanent – average 35 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime
Travel: Paid travel time \+ 45p per mile

Hamill Homecare is looking for an experienced, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team, supporting clients across Killearn, Balfron, Drymen and the surrounding areas.

We offer an excellent rate of £17\.20–£18\.00 per hour, paid travel time and 45p per mile, with realistic travel time built into your rota and a permanent contract averaging 35 hours per week.

A minimum of one year's professional care experience is required for this position.

As a Care Assistant, you'll visit clients in their own homes and provide personalised care and support based on their individual needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing personal care and support with daily routines


• Supporting clients with medication


• Preparing meals and assisting with nutrition


• Providing mobility support


• Offering companionship and social support


• Supporting clients to attend appointments and activities


• Promoting independence, dignity and choice


• Maintaining accurate electronic care records


• Monitoring clients' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns

We're looking for an experienced Care Assistant who is compassionate, dependable and professional, and confident providing care and support independently in clients' homes.

Essential requirements

• Minimum of 1 year's professional care experience


• Full UK driving licence


• Access to your own vehicle for work


• Right to work in the UK


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team


• Flexibility to work across the required shift patterns, including overnights and weekends


• Willingness to work at least one split shift per week

Working pattern

This is a permanent position averaging 35 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours.

Shifts include AM, PM, overnight and weekend shifts, allocated according to rota requirements. The rota will also include at least one split shift per week.

Applicants must therefore be flexible and available to work across the required shift patterns, including overnights and weekends.
