Location: Welland Place, Market Harborough
Hours: 33 hours per week
Salary: £13\.79 per hour

For this role, we are currently considering candidates who live within approximately 15 miles of the Scheme. This ensures commutes are manageable and support your wellbeing and work\-life balance. About the role

We are looking for caring, compassionate and reliable Care and Support Workers to join our team at MHA. This is a rewarding role where you will support older people to live independently, safely and with dignity, while making a genuine difference to their everyday lives.

As a Care and Support Worker, you will provide person\-centred care and support tailored to each individual’s needs. You will help create a warm, respectful and supportive environment, guided by MHA’s values and commitment to helping people live later life well.

What you will do

  • Provide care and support to meet residents’ personal, social, emotional, spiritual and practical needs, in line with individual care and support plans.

  • Act as a key worker for a group of service users, supporting their wellbeing and settling into the scheme.

  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility and the safe use of aids and equipment, following care plans and risk assessments.

  • Promote residents’ dignity, privacy, choice and independence at all times.

  • Support residents with day\-to\-day tasks such as housekeeping, laundry, shopping and managing their home environment where agreed.

  • Encourage and support participation in social activities and outings to promote wellbeing and reduce isolation.

  • Respond appropriately to calls for assistance and emergency situations, following scheme procedures.

  • Maintain accurate written and verbal records in line with confidentiality and organisational policies.

  • Work as part of a team, attending meetings, training, supervisions and appraisals as required.
About you

We are looking for someone who is kind, patient and committed, with a genuine interest in supporting older people.

You will bring:

  • A caring and respectful approach, with sensitivity to the needs of older people.

  • The ability to work well as part of a team and communicate clearly with residents, colleagues and professionals.

  • Good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions and care plans.

  • Willingness to undertake training, including working towards a QCF Level 2 in Health \& Social Care (if not already achieved).

  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
