A nationally recognised, award\-winning farm shop, Ludlow Farmshop is located just outside the market town of Ludlow, in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Part of the Earl of Plymouth Estate, Ludlow Farmshop supports traditional production methods, with departments making great tasting products, such as cheese pastries, cakes, biscuits, jams and pickles, as well as a famous butchery department. Using as much produce from our own estate, we also support other local suppliers who have the same ethos as us. Coupled with the focus on reducing the impact of what we do on the environment, Ludlow Farmshop has an excellent reputation for quality products, which you cannot buy elsewhere.
We are looking for a supervisor to join the team at Ludlow Kitchen, our café, located at Ludlow Farmshop.
Ludlow Kitchen is very busy coffee shop, breakfast and lunch venue The ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing a fast\-paced restaurant. We are a day time venue with shift times falling between 7\.30am\-5pm. Due to the nature of the industry, weekend working is essential.
Assisting with the management of a team of 25 staff, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring a great atmosphere at all times, maintaining our 5\-star Food Hygiene rating, recruitment \& coaching of staff and working with the kitchen team to create high quality dishes.
Services can be challenging due to the volume of diners and you must be able to remain calm when under pressure while keeping the team focused.
The ideal candidate will :
· Lead and motivate the café team to deliver exceptional customer service
· Oversee day\-to\-day operations, including stock management and ordering supplies
· Ensure compliance with health and safety and food safety regulations
· Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability
· Collaborate with the kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
· Train new employees on café procedures, menu items, and customer service protocols
· Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner
· Confidently manage the premises in the absence of the Café Manager
· Have strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of team management
· Have experience in the culinary or hospitality industry, preferably in a café or restaurant setting
· Have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and staff
· Have the ability to work in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
This is a full\-time role of 5 days working and 2 days off in a 7\-day week. . This will involve working weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis, with two guaranteed days off each week. The hourly rate is £13\.54 per hour.
