Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager to oversee daily operations within a vibrant hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a dedicated team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and passion for hospitality to create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. The Cafe Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our establishment through effective team management and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of cafe operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure high standards of quality and presentation
- Lead, supervise, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive working environment
- Manage daily staffing schedules, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor team performance
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas of the cafe
- Coordinate with suppliers for inventory management and order supplies as needed
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance overall satisfaction
- Implement training programmes for staff on food safety, service standards, and operational procedures
- Monitor financial performance, optimise operational efficiency, and contribute to menu planning and development
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that promotes hospitality and encourages repeat business
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably as a manager or team leader
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production with culinary experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
- Experience in managing teams within a busy environment such as restaurants or hotels is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and develop staff members
- Previous barista experience or knowledge of beverage preparation is advantageous
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- A passion for hospitality, customer service, and creating memorable experiences for guests
