Café Manager

Fika Bakery is a Brighton\-based artisan Swedish bakery – the home of authentic Swedish Fika in the UK. We exist to help people reconnect with each other over beautifully made baked goods – led by our signature Swedish cinnamon bun. Our first cafe in Brighton’s North Laine is likely to be a sought after destination.

The Role We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience as a Cafe Manager

• 40 hours per week across 5 shifts (likely Wednesday\-Sunday)

• Management of a cafe from launch – allowing you to set the standards and manage the venue and team effectively


• Making coffee and operating the till


• Customer service as well as dealing with queries and complaints


• Regular cleaning of cafe, toilet, outdoor seating area, etc


• Liaising with the group Operations Manager to manage supplies of buns, sandwiches and bread, coffee, cups, etc


• Re\-stocking shelves/counter


• Reviewing daily and weekly revenue targets and making recommendations on what’s selling best


• Managing the team with ongoing guidance and training


• Ensuring the ambience among staff and customer is positive

• 2 years\+ experience as a cafe manager


• Barista experience


• Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene certificate


• Able to work weekends and Bank Holidays


• A positive, outgoing personality


• An ability to help customers feel at ease and ability to resolve queries or complaints


• Punctual and able to start work at 7am


• Organised


• Enjoys keeping a team motivated during both busy and quiet times


• Great team management and training skills


• Fire Warden certificate would be a bonus
