Cafe Assistant Manager (full time)
Rokers Farmhouse is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House Assistant Manager to join our busy, independent café.
Set in a picturesque location, we are a high\-footfall café with a reputation for great coffee, friendly service and a fresh, brunch\-led menu. We are open 8\.30am–4pm, seven days a week, and pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment for both our customers and our team.
The Role
This is a full\-time position, 38 hours per week (excl. breaks), 5 days out of 7, including weekend work.
This is a hands\-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being actively involved in the day\-to\-day running of a busy café and is confident leading a front of house team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring guests have a warm and welcoming experience.
- Training, supervising and supporting front of house staff.
- Leading by example and being willing to get stuck in wherever needed, whether that means serving customers, clearing tables, supporting the bar, or cleaning.
- Leading the front of house team and taking responsibility for the café on the Manager’s days off and during annual leave.
- Managing stock levels and supporting stock control and ordering.
We are looking for someone with previous front of house management or supervisory experience, ideally within a busy café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
You will need:
- Proven experience supervising or leading a hospitality team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and hands\-on during busy services.
- A positive, proactive approach and the ability to lead by example.
- High standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
- Good organisational skills, including experience with stock control.
- A willingness to get stuck in and take responsibility for maintaining the café to a very high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work weekends and adapt to the needs of a busy café.
