CAD Technician

• Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

We are seeking a CAD Technician to join our Engineering & Design team at our head office and manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a strong background in 3D CAD design, looking to further their career and contribute to the growth of our company.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Produce and check approval, fabrication, and construction drawings to standard within a given programmed time.


• Compile and check Bills of Materials/Parts lists for customer-specific orders and ensure effective release to production.


• Liaise with team members, customer representatives, and manufacturing staff to ensure effective manufacturing of products in compliance with structural, cost, and contractual obligations.


• Assist with the implementation of Autodesk Inventor 3D and Vault Professional within the team.


• Apply Design for Manufacture principles and value-added engineering throughout design undertakings.


• Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean initiatives, and activities to improve company efficiency, including via ISO 9001 accreditation.


• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient with Autodesk Inventor 3D, SolidWorks, or similar 3D software and AutoCAD packages.


• Strong manufacturing/engineering background with good engineering and technical knowledge.


• Experience in producing Bills of Materials and knowledge of ERP systems is beneficial.


• Familiarity with iLogic, Python, or similar coding is advantageous.


• Excellent task management, time management, and communication skills.


• Computer proficiency including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft TEAMS.


• Desirable: Degree/HND in an engineering/manufacturing qualification or equivalent work experience in a related role.
