The Role.

GMC are currently seeking a CAD Technician / Junior Design Engineer to join our team in Dublin.

The successful candidate will support our engineering and project teams with the preparation, development, and maintenance of technical drawings and documentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, update, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation.

  • Produce detailed drawings and layouts in accordance with project requirements and company standards.

  • Assist engineers with the preparation of design drawings, plans, and construction documentation.

  • Review drawings and technical information for accuracy and completeness.

  • Make revisions to drawings based on engineering and site requirements.

  • Assist with the preparation of as\-built drawings and project records.

  • Interpret engineering information, specifications, surveys, and site information.

  • Liaise with engineers, project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure drawing requirements are met.

  • Maintain organised drawing files and ensure appropriate document control procedures are followed.

  • Assist with site and project\-related technical queries where required.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.

  • Support the wider engineering team with general technical and project\-related tasks.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
  • Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a CAD Technician, Junior Engineer, Engineering Technician, or similar role.

  • Experience using AutoCAD.

  • Good understanding of technical drawings and engineering principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

  • Good organisational and time\-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A willingness to learn and develop within the utilities and engineering industry.

  • Full driving licence would be an advantage.
