BUYER / PROCUREMENT MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Procurement Manager to join our successful team in Glenrothes, Fife.
We specialise in the manufacture and installation of HVAC ductwork, working across a diverse range of sectors including construction, maritime, defence, nuclear, oil \& gas and other specialist markets.
This is a key role within our business, with responsibility for managing and developing our procurement activities. You will play an important part in ensuring that materials, products and services are sourced competitively, efficiently and in line with our production and installation requirements.
The Role
As Buyer / Procurement Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day\-to\-day purchasing and procurement activities
- Sourcing materials, products and services at competitive prices
- Negotiating pricing, terms and lead times with suppliers
- Developing and maintaining strong, professional supplier relationships
- Obtaining, reviewing and comparing supplier quotations
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiency
- Monitoring pricing, availability and supplier lead times
- Ensuring materials are available to support production and installation programmes
- Working closely with management, production and site installation teams
- Supporting effective stock management and purchasing controls
- Taking ownership of the procurement function and helping to continually improve purchasing processes
We are looking for a commercially minded and proactive procurement professional who can take ownership of the role and work effectively across the wider business.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement position
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or construction environment
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Good supplier relationship and management skills
- The confidence to take ownership and make commercially sound purchasing decisions
